Our Director

Tina Liedle spent many of her school-age years in Europe, where she was involved with various types of music and dance. Her college and early adult years were spent in California, focused on music, dance, stage performance, and education, where she also worked as a classroom teacher and curriculum developer.

Moving to Denver, in 1982, Tina began homeschooling and working to create a friendly legal climate for home education. She began organizing classes and events, incorporating music, dance and other cultural and historical elements. Her 6 children are now in their teens, twenties, and thirties.

The Liedle family has been the core of an international performance team, which, over the years, has been based in three different states: Colorado, Georgia, and Arizona. In August, 2011, they returned to Colorado to establish their home and business in Castle Rock.

Freedom in Education

Germany & The Netherlands

Our group met with hundreds of German students and with the directors of private schools, discussing practical ways to make it possible for families to educate their children according to their conscience, through umbrella schools and other alternatives. We also met with home educators in various settings, including speaking and performing at a home education conference in The Netherlands.

Parental Rights

Switzerland

Swiss parents are rapidly losing the right to direct the lives and activities of their young children; the laws marching ever closer to a goal of mandatory child care. We worked with parents and business leaders to defeat one such aggressive political measure.

Georgia House Resolution 850

We communicated with American legislators and attorneys (as well as German families and private schools) before our tour, exploring ways that we could help.

Resolutions and endorsements from the Georgia state government were prepared and hand-delivered by the Chalet Dancers (under the tour name The Highländlers) to German state and federal officials under the direction of German nationals. We were very honored to have had the personal attention and counsel of the leading attorneys (including Mike Donnally of HSLDA) who deal with these legal issues in Germany as we assisted in coordinating and implementing this effort.

Georgia HR 850 was delivered to:

  • The Federal Government of Germany
  • The State of Berlin, Germany
  • The State of Bavaria, Germany
  • Den Haag, The Netherlands

In Germany, they came first for the Communists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist – and then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist – and then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew – and then… they came for me… and by that time there was no one left to speak up.
